SENIOR COACHES
Laurie Boone
Laurie grew up in Troy, Ohio. She began skating around the age of eight and has been a member
of Troy Skating Club since 2007. She is currently working on her Pre-Gold Skating Skills test as well as her
Pre-Silver Freeskate test. Laurie has performed many solos and group numbers in skating shows with
Troy Skating Club, as well as spending a few years competing. Besides skating, Laurie enjoys piano,
painting and traveling in her free time. Laurie currently coaches for Troy Skating Club’s Learn-To-Skate
program, and is available to coach private lessons to all ages and skill levels. She is able to teach
choreography, Skating Skills, and Freeskate skills, as well as beginner skating and hockey.

Jen Clark
Jen grew up in Iowa where she danced extensively. She was a part of Iowa State University's dance company "Orchesis" and performed in many productions. After moving to Ohio she taught dance at Gary Geis School of Dance in Springfield. When her daughter started skating she decided to take lessons as well and fell in love with the sport. As an Adult skater she has competed and tested. She is currently working on her Adult Gold Skating Skills test and her Adult Silver Freeskate test. Jen also holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She has taught Preschool-4th grade general education and special education, as well as being the director of Special Education for a local school district. She is currently completing an internship with local skating coaches who have coached many skaters to USFSA gold medals, and whose skaters have competed internationally. Jen is available to coach beginner skills for any age, skating skills, freestyle, and choreography.

Sarah DeWitt
Sarah DeWitt has skated since 2005. She began skating in the Troy Skating Club’s Learn-to-Skate program and quickly became a club member and began her competitive skating journey. From 2007-2018 Sarah competed at many local competitions and performed many solo and group numbers at the annual TSC Holiday show. She was also a part of Springfield’s Theater on Ice group for two years. Sarah is a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Skating Skills. She is currently working toward her Intermediate Freeskate test and many ice dance tests and practices often. She is on the LTS staff at the NTPRD Chiller as well as the Troy Skating Club. Sarah is PSA certified and enjoys working with students of all ages and skill levels to help them set and reach their goals in skating both for fun and for competitions. She teaches choreography, moves in the field, Freeskate, and LTS skills. Her main goal in coaching is to help her students find the love and joy being on the ice has given her throughout her years of skating. In addition to skating Sarah is an avid reader and animal lover.

Deb Miller
Deb Miller has been with Troy Skating Club for nearly 20 years, and has 28 years coaching experience. Deb herself has her Gold Figures and Gold Freestyle, she also spent time performing in the Ice Capades and Atami Japan. She has coached skaters at the sectional level, as well as had many skaters complete their Gold medals in both MIF and Freestyle under her coaching. Deb is also an accomplished choreographer and choreographs programs for skaters all over the region. Deb coaches moves in the field, freestyle and choreography.

Courtney Ryon
Courtney was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. She grew up as a competitive dancer and started as a dance instructor from an early age. Additionally she has an extensive background in musical theater. She has been involved in the skating world for nearly a decade. Beginning as a skate mom to two daughters in the sport, Courtney moved into competing and testing before finding her passion for coaching. As a registered US Figure Skating coach she has helped skaters and parents navigate the ins and outs of competing and testing with US Figure Skating. She is currently completing an internship with local skating coaches who have coached many skaters to USFSA gold medals, and whose skaters have competed internationally. Courtney is available to coach beginner skills for any age, skating skills, freestyle, and choreography.

ASSOCIATE COACHES
Tera Kelner
Tera Kelner was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She has been involved in the figure skating community for more than 20 years. Tera is a registered US Figure Skating coach and has been coaching for over a decade. She has led skaters to achieve Gold Level Moves in the Field, and a spot on the Miami University Varsity Synchronized Skating team. She enjoys living a healthy lifestyle, helping and encouraging her students to become more in tune with their bodies. Tera is available to coach beginner skills for any age, Moves in the Field, Freestyle, Choreography, beginner hockey, and power skating.
